No Images, CSS Only Web Design?

I am in midst of the web design project, I'm nearly 70% done. Just as I was winding up for the day, I realized that I hadn't used even one image so far. Just pure CSS.

Given this constraint, and even without; the design I've ended with, I feel suits the layout and the website almost perfectly. I'll give you the link when the work is completed and published online, but have you ever made a design where the use of images/graphics was minimal, even nil.

And those who swear by Photoshop, would you finally concede that you dont need "stunning" graphics for good web design?

It really depends on the site. A photographer's portfolio should definitely have images if you ask me

Ofcourse it depends on the site .. .. but there are so many types of websites where using image based graphics aren't required ..

Very true. I can't wait to see what a site looks like with no images, or at least the kind of a site that does.

yeah, ive toyed with the idea for a while of not using any images in a site...

allthough i would still design it in photoshop :P

Ofcourse the theme is not perfect, we've already lited out a few changes that needs to be made. However it is a pretty good start I believe.
