Hi everyoneI'm trying to start a mass-debate (excuse the pun) here, but has anyone noticed that since the first Microsoft OS released, we've been gradually moved away from DOS, until it is hidden in the background somewhere...95 had DOS in the start menu, so did 98, ME has it in the Windows dir (not in the start menu), and on XP...well, need I say more...It seems like Microsoft doesn't want anyone being in DOS anymore, purely because in DOS you're free to do what you want, whereas in the Windows GUI, you click a button it goes to that location etc. DOS has no limits.
MS has more control in other ways too now that XP has been released, they can get any info from you that they want.
It just seems to me, that having looked and used all the GUI's that MS has ever released, that they are wanting to shape the future, lead us down a path which lines bill gates's pocket, (they'll probably be watching me write this).
Who remembers the good old day of the Amiga's Workbench, 3.1 MB in total, and yet it could multi-task 4 years ahead of any Microsoft OS, and it had a nice GUI. Apple Mac's aswell, I mean come on! there using bl**dy 450mhz processors and the performance of the games still rip on any PC. And it all comes down to two things, a faulty OS, and secondly the base memory (which I won't go into). It's like building a house with faulty foundations.
And the irony of it all is, we all use it, I'm using a Microsoft OS now, 98 SE with Internet Explorer.
I would like peoples thoughts on this...NOW THAT I'VE GOT EVERYONE REALLY FRUSTRATED I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT THIS IS NOT ENTIRELY MY OPINION I DO LIKE MS, COS LETS FACE IT, IF YOU DON'T USE MS YOUR SCREWED.
