Is it possible to create private domain name extension like ".av.co"?

I was wondering if it is possible to create a private extension like .av.co or something like that. Could you please guide me if there are ways to create our own private domain name extensions?

Um, doesn't quite work that way.

The closest you can get is to buy a domain extension, let's say .eu, and then buy com.eu. Then you can make subdomains like jokes.com.eu. It wouldn't be a real extension but would simulate one.

that is just what eu.com and us.com do. the key is registering that short two character domain name ... which is pretty impossible to do now.
