    syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE (was: ???????????)

    Whats up with this?

    $multimedia = mysql_query("SELECT dlname, link, areaid FROM atm_downloads WHERE atm_downloads.areaid = '$areaid'") or die('Error, query failed');

    It doesn't seem to like it.

    Thanks

    Neil

    Sometimes an error on a previous line can cause an error like that.

    you should look at the lines of code before that line. the php parser is expecting something else and throws an error when it hits that variable.

    maybe you forgot a ; somewhere
