    Web Text Editor?

I created a template system to market to my companies incoming clients that creates a template with their custom text and some other features...

I have signed up quite a few people for templates but alot of them are wanting better text manipulation functions. As in...when they go to their "admin" area and want to edit text for one of their pages they want to be able to make text bold, italic some want to change colors and stuff like that...

The only original "HTML" support i had in the text was it would change a complete URL into a hyperlink and the same with e-mail addresses..

Does anyone know a good way to put in the extra support as I mentioned above? I see that this bulletin board uses java it looks like to add in b/i/u would this be the best way? Someone told me there is a way to make the text actually appear bold/italic in the form text box?

    similar question

I also have a similar question: where can I find a Java applet for writing text on a Web page that converts it HTML formatted code?

The first response seems unrelated and the second has a link that is pulling up an error.

    Thanks

Well, I found what I was looking for, although, it's a ASP/COM/Active X instead of Java.

    http://www.aspmodules.com/default.asp

They market it as a WYSIWYG in a Web browser.

Simple, go to http://www.innovationd.com/ and login with demo, demo. Go to the content admin and check out what they have there.

OK, how is "UebiMiau is a simple, yet efficient cross-plataform POP3 mail reader written in PHP." related to Web-based text editor (WYSIWYG) written in Java?

If you actually look at his post you will see that he means JavaScript and not Java. He posted in the PHP forum first and asked about this I advised him to post here. I then remembered that the above script has a very good example of using JavaScript to create a WYSIWYG like text editor

    Next question ...

Thanks - I like what they've got (something I should be providing for my own clients), but I was only looking for text editor component.

The one mentioned above is ideal in that it is a pretty good WYSIWYG editor that simpy returns the text as HTML code in a form variable. I can then programmaticly do whatever I want from there.

It is less then ideal in that it will only work on a Windows server on my end and on a Windows machine running IE on the client side.
