Help me get the record
Alright, this is going to be my attempt to create the world's longest forum thread..
I want you guys to post random jokes, random stupid thoughts, just anything and everything that you can think of... we're going to make this thread so long... I don't know what the record is... but we're going to do it and we'll keep doing it until someone tells us that we have to stop because we killed the record a long time ago.
To get things started:
How old is everyone in the forums? Do you believe that this is a detriment to your ability to get paid work at all?

You could beat the record without manufacturing it, just ask something controversial.

Oh, I forgot to answer your questions.
I'm 18. Although I think age can have a negative effect, it can be overcome with intelligence and a few smooth moves. So my answer is no, age isn't a reason to whine because nobody will hire you.Ryan Kuhle - A Proud Advisor - Got Questions? Just Ask!

When I've had a hard day at school or work, I'll be soothed to know that I was the tenth post on this thread.

Ok lets try rkuhle's theory!
I think homosexuality should be outlawed and all the homosexuals should be forced to attend classes on how to be normal, and if they fail they should have their respective genetalia removed!

Who in the world is Chris Roane?
I don't think that manatees should have any rights... hindu people are the only real race... hamsters are far superior to gerbils... and pornography is good for christians....
Is that controversial enough?
What does everyone think of the glass ceiling? Does it exist? The glass ceiling for thoes of you that don't know is for women. Basically a women can get so high in a career and it appears as if she can keep moving up because there are positions there, but when she gets to a certain level, it seems like she can't get any higher in the male dominated position... Do you think that the glass ceiling exists? or not?
Scientific numbers don't support it. In a study done by UCLA, 2,500 business professionals were polled and found that only a small percentage of women aspired to raise to higher positions, stating that their husbands were the main supporters and they were just the supplemntal income.... If this is correct nation-wide, then the number of women in upper level executive positions is only slightly less than what the percentages from the poll would suggest. Off by a mere 2%.
One of the main reasons for women being unable to achieve upper executive management is because women have to choose between having a career or a family, while men can do both at the same time. Generally women are the ones expecting to raise the children and in a family where the male is already successful, the woman is more than likely going to be the one raising the child. This isn't just a sexist thing, this is a cultural thing. Women have more of a bond to their children and are much more willing to spend the additional time with their children.
What do you guys think? Is this research BS or do you think that's there's a lot to it? Are women still being looked down upon in the corporate environment. Personally, I don't see it, because my peers are all women... but that could just be my career track.
Also, another example would be minorities, such as asians, afrian americans... etc.. Do you think that they are being judged based upon their race? I don't think that they are. There are equal percentages of blacks in higher positions as there are blacks in our population... at least very close... not what I would call a significant difference as reported by Time Magazine a few months ago.

No, I don't think there is a glass ceiling. I think the reason not as many women overcome the so-called glass ceiling is because of different responsibilities, different "needs".
Face it people, men and women are not equal, they never have been, they never will be. Men have their strengths: physical strength, tranquil, and so on. They also have their weaknesses: not compassionate, not sensitive, and so on. Likewise, women also have their strengths and weaknesses. We are not equal! Please note, I'm not saying that men are better than women or women are better than men. We are different.
Back to what I was saying. Many women long for children. They get pregnant and have kids. This offsets their career potential. If women didn't have the children, maybe more would hold executive positions.
Another thing, executives need a certain mind set. They must think, not feel. Compassion can not play a prominent role or the company will fold. Like it or not, most women are compassionate. It's natural!
Bottom line, I don't think women are held back any more than disabled people. In fact, I think women have a jump on things today. Just last week I was doing research on business funding at the SBA website, they have a funding program specifically for women to "help them make up for the past". Sounds like affirmative action to me...
Feel free to argue.Ryan Kuhle - A Proud Advisor - Got Questions? Just Ask!

I work with a lot of gay guys unfortunately... I say unfortunately because they keep trying to get me to go to the gay bar with them... so that they can set me up with one of their friends... hahaha... no!
They do some of the funniest stuff though. I can't believe how funny gay people are. They seem to know so much about style and fashion, from men to women's stuff... it's way crazy... I go to work everyday and have to hear about the latest Gucci fashions and about how drab Lucinda is getting and how Madonna is so... "kiss" "kiss" FAB-U-LOUS...hehehe... sorry, gay people in my workplace are my best entertainment...

I think that women and minorities have it easier than anyone else personally. As a white male, myself, I can't get any financial aid for college, because I make too much money, however, my sister, is approved for full funding because she is a female. How is that fair? I had to get my scholarships because that's the only way I can go to college... I get some financial aid, but I get almost no government support, like my sister and girlfriend both do...
Also, when trying to startup my business, I did go to the SBA, like Ryan talked about... There are specialty loans for blacks, hispanics, asians, and women, but there aren't any for white males... why not? Why do we even have groupings like that?
Also, there's the whole affirmative action... that's racism right there... I never want to hear another person complain about unfair hiring practices, because I have to compete with women and minorities in the workforce, even though I'm far more capable than many of my counterparts, I could end up losing out on that position, because of a quota to fulfill affirmative action... That's just BS!
I'm a huge supporter of women and minority rights, but if Jesse Jackson gets up talking about inequality one more time or talks about the number of blacks in jail in proportion to the population, I'm going to literally show him how to get an equally spread out full body whipping... The reason why there are more blacks in jail isn't because we are a racist society (there are a lot of black cops... strange) it's because there apparently are more blacks that commit the crimes... or else they wouldn't be in jail. If you ask most of them in there what they did and most of them admit they did something... so what's the problem??? Jesse Jackson is just one of those people that have such tunnel vision... if anything else, he's causing racism in the country and he's got to be one of the biggest bigots in the nation... Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow Coalition are the anti-white form of the KKK.

ah nuts, I'm about to start a business. *sigh* thanks for the heads up
Also, there's the whole affirmative action... that's racism right there...
YOU BET IT IS
I once had a friend who graduated with a 4 year degree in chemistry.(white male) He was having trouble finding a job so to make ends meet, he applied to several fast food restaraunts.
McDonalds turned him down because, by law, they had to hire a minority.
Ok, so whats better for business? Whats the better business decision? Not that hard to figure out.
AA is so racist and it works against NAACP and JJ's movement. AA assumes that minorities cannot compete on a level playing field.(thats racist) So, we need to lever/lower the playing field so minorities can play too.(also racist) WRONG. they can compete just fine, they just have to work as hard at it as the rest of us.
If they are equal in every way as they want us to believe, then we don't need AA
I'm a huge supporter of women and minority rights, but if Jesse Jackson gets up talking about inequality one more time....
or what about when he stepped up during the Nov election and said blacks had been disenfranchised. BS. No one was, he just used that as an excuse to get some publicity.

Have you guys heard about the movement to get reperations to blacks for slavery?
I think that one is funny... There are some black lawyers that are trying to sue the United States government for damages caused to the black community because of slavery... Personally, while slavery was a really horrible thing, I think that the slave decendants are doing much better now than they would be doing if we hadn't have brought them over... HAS ANYONE BEEN TO AFRICA??? Everyone is dying of AIDS and every other sexually transmitted disease over there. They still have small pox in some remote villages over there... they died from all sorts of stuff.. lack of food, things like that. So, I think that they should happy that they are here and not over there, because if they were over there, half of them would be dead, and I can gaurantee none of them would be wearing Pure Playaz, Fubu, Ice, and Timbos...

I have to say, I wasn't aware that white males are descriminated against in the way that's been suggested. If you're right, that is awful. Almost every day on the news, we hear about racist attacks on African's, Asian's, Muslim's, Hidu's etc, and then I hear things like this.
Don't get me wrong, I don't condone rascism, under any circumstances, but the descrimination that's been mentioned in this forum is just as bad.
