    urlencode();

    When i urlencode all of my text fields when inserting to a database for some reason it puts a %5C before any ' charcters? why is it doing this?

    when i decode the string that would originally be:
    Sean O'Grady

    then once I encode and decode again it is:

    Sean O\'Grady

    strange

    urlencode() is for encoding variables to be sent through a GET string. You need to use urldecode() on the variables before inserting them into the database.
