Ruby on Rails: How to handle images?

I know PHP has GD, although poorly implemented, and now that I'm learning Ruby on Rails I am wondering if it has any image function to edit, create, etc images.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

You may also want to look into minimagick which is a minimal version of imagemagick and so much more friendly on processor/ram usage that can help out a lot in shared hosting environments.

Also, don't forget the file_column plugin! It adds image uploading, storing and resizing all with just a couple of lines of code.
