    travel site does make money?

    hello everybody.

am a student. am going to finish my Degree by year end (hopefully).

i need advices from the Gurus out there.

does travel site make money ? (sure, but how)

i have this idea been in my homble brian for almost a year.

the idea is to create a site about the places i have been to.(so far 20+).

i had good experians and bad once in the places i been to.
the idea. why i dont share it with the internet users. in a form of articles
    -section for articles
each place i been too all right an article about (atraction places, food, how to go there, what possiblly can be done there, what to avoid(costums)....etc).

    -photo album
each place i been too i took at less 50pics.

    -forum
if there is a traffic all may be ad a poll about if the users would like a forum

Note: am staying in south east asia i travel between malaysia, tailand, singapore, and planning to visit China.
Note: ill be the one who moneter the site only, is that good or bad?

will such idea generate money (150$ a month(in 6month time) - cost(host, Domain name, simple adver.))?

how much do i need to pomb at the beginning ?
    what to consider?
    what to avoid?
how much work must be done?
    where to start advertising?
    best method of advertising?
shall i give the facts to editor and pay him to write the articles(or i do it)?
    any thing more?

ist better to ask a developer to develop the site (or i try to do it(just starting to pick php ))?
any suggetions or comments or advices is highly appriciated.

    thank you.

edite: is't a good idea to make shoping cart empided in the site sells
a few products like T-shirts of the places or may be some hand made
    stuff.

if its. will it cost big sum of money to ask a developer to do it(no price)?

no one can tell you how to build or run a site, you have to do it all your self and you need to make lots of mistake and learn by them, I have been building and running sites for 10 years and still dont know it all and never will but i have learnt a lot via my mistakes, one thing i will say is travel is big money ads....

My advice is build it, you have nothing to loose.

thanks for the reply and advice

in this case all change my Q to
sticking with the idea of travel site

ist best to start in form of stages Example.

    start with articles(reviews)

may be in few months introduse photos section.

and if there are many visiters all introduse the forum

is this sounds like a plan ?
    ist good starting strategy?

Personally I would put the photos up right away, there is no use in not doing it.

The forums can wait until you have a more stable base of users.

My advice to you is simple, stop thinking and start doing.

Start writing your reviews now or else you'll spend forever thinking of other things to do and will never start.

Trust me, I do it all the time. Paralysis by Analysis.
