Want to enable a site to sell downloadable goods.

Using an existing ecommerce/database enabled web site which sells hardgoods, I now want to enable the web site to sell secured softgoods (downloadable documents). I am unfamiliar with what software and/or other things to consider to set this up. Can anyone direct me?

    Thanks.

It really has to do with your e-commerce software or shopping cart... you can put hard links in any web page to allow customers to download...

What's difficult is keeping unwanted people from downloading. Some companies offer carts and systems that dynamically generate passwords for the user to be able to download the product... and it only works for a limited amount of time.

What I would suggest is find out if your shopping cart or e-commerce system supports that, or find one that does. I could reccommend a few but there are quite a few out there.

For $6 per month www.mals-e.com will let you sell up to 250 downloadable products. I have been using their shopping cart for a while now, and I really like it.

    beley,
If the person is paying for the download, who is the "unwanted person" ? Please explain. And what are "hard links" ?

    Snowbird122,
Thank you for your response, I'll keep it in mind for future implementations. I already have the shopping cart set up and ecommerce enabled for hardgoods. I would just be adding download capability.

    Try powerbasket!

I was looking for the same thing.

    We purhased powerbasket:

It was installed and they customized it totally for our company within days.

    I'm really happy with it.
