Blue Screen Of Death - intelc52.sys

My wife just called me and told me when she tries to connect to the internet (dial-up) she gets a blue screen of death that says a possible error was from the file intelc52.sys

What does this file do? And does anyone know what I would do to fix this problem?

    My platform
Dell Dimension 8400/ XP Home (blech...)

Did you do any recent driver updates?

    possible solutions:
1)replace intelc52.sys as it might be altered by virus with 'original' copy

2)intelc52.sys has something to do with BIOS, so when your computer starts up press F1/F10/F12 to enter BIOS (depend on your computer model, it tells you which function key on enter BIOS). Look around and find video shadowing or cache, turn it off. Save it without changing anything else. If this mess thing up you can always go back to BIOS and turn video shadowing on.

    Ciao
