    Question IE makes my padding doubled

    yes, every padding and margin IE doubles it. I know that IE has this kind of problems and I know one of the solution with conditional hack "<!--[if IE]>"
    but is there any solution that can be done only in the CSS file, without modifying the HTML file?

    IE has many problems, but I've never heard of or experienced double margins on absolutely everything everything. The "double margin on floats" bug springs to mind, but that only affects one side at a time. It's fixed with display: inline; given to the problematic float.

    Is it so difficult to post a link to your page or at least show some code?

    thanks Egor, and yes it was about double margin on floats and it works with display: inline;
    great, but isnt that going to cause some future problems because I set display: inline; to a div tag and by default it's a block element?

    Glad you got it sorted. No, not unless you decided to remove the float property from one of the containers in the future. Elements do not need to be block-level in order to float.
