I disagree. Everyone knows that people in the South East are obnoxious, and the further North you go the people become nicer and more friendly.

    Edit:

That was at the post above the post above

    Edit:

    In that case Ian,
It goes downhill when you hit Stoke on Trent.....

Now I doubt anyone would disagree with that!

Being talented is questionable, but spelling is obviously a short-coming.

Russia doesn't. Canada doesn't. Greenland doesn't. Australia doesn't, but will probably claim it does (*).

Since he asked (in another post) about a training company with a .uk domain, I'm guessing he means Londonderry or Aberdeen.

(But then, I'm a long way away. Local residents may have a different take on "northeast".)

Funny isn't it? All the apparent intelligence of the people here yet they cannot see the simple logic of my post, but you can! Well done my friend!

Well Said. I tend to find in the England, North East residents are more friendlier than down south (and this is a known fact) but then again i've never lived down their and thats my opinion.

I tend to here Leeds has a very good location for training purposes, so some good companies may be located their. Some will be in the North East but what do you declare North East - some people say Blackburn is North East but then again I laugh when thats said. NE is Durham, Northumberland and Teeside in my eyes.

Also im from the North East of England,
Easy, just make that part a wasteland, desert, swamp, tundra, or giant hole.

Russia, Canada, Greenland all fit that category: there's no people in the northeastern sections.

Indonesia runs basically due east-west. Each island may have a northeast part, but the country as a whole doesn't.

Cuba is the same, except that the eastern part of the main island seems to go out of its way to avoid having a northeast. (Seen from the Isle of Youth, of course, the northeast would be the almost the whole of the country.)

The contiguous landmass that contains the city of London--which I think may be called "Great Britain" but I'm never sure--doesn't have a northeast. If you look at a map, the northern, eastern section would be where the North Sea is.

On a map, the northernmost-easternmost city appears to be Peterhead; the easternmost-northermost area is called "The Fens"; and a rough compromise between the two (neither particularly eastern nor particularly northern) might be Middlesbrough.

Since the domain was ".uk" and since my (limited!) understanding says that includes more than just the one island, another possibility would be Londonderry (more north) or Belfast (more east). Technically, I guess it might also include Lerwick.

There's "relative northeast" of course: that's why I suggested that locals--since they actually live there--might have a better idea.

I live in a "northeast" myself, when considered on the national news. But people here think of us as being more "east" with places farther north being "northeast."

Then the wasteland, desert, swamp, tundra, or giant hole would be in the northeast of the country...

Ah so Russia, Canada, Greenland all have northeasts then...

    What????

A country cannot have no northeast. If it does then something is very, very wrong with the world. If a country is split up into islands then the country wouldnt have a specific northeast imho, each island would have a northeast.

Oh well this is slightly off-topic
