    Permission Denied

I get the following error when I try any controller with my (previously working) rails app just now upgraded to 1.1

    Code:
    Permission denied - /path/to/project/public/../config/../tmp/sessions//ruby_sess.d4d3dea82b78cfa3
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/pstore.rb:289:in `initialize'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/pstore.rb:289:in `transaction'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/cgi/session/pstore.rb:71:in `initialize'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/cgi/session.rb:273:in `initialize'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/cgi_process.rb:111:in `session'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/cgi_process.rb:141:in `stale_session_check!'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/cgi_process.rb:107:in `session'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/base.rb:885:in `assign_shortcuts_without_flash'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/flash.rb:141:in `assign_shortcuts'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/base.rb:373:in `process_without_filters'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/filters.rb:364:in `process_without_session_management_support'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/actionpack-1.12.0/lib/action_controller/session_management.rb:117:in `process'
    /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rails-1.1.0/lib/dispatcher.rb:38:in `dispatch'
    /path/to/project/public/dispatch.cgi:10
I should add that this doesn't appear like a typical rails error message - it is plaintext ... getting spit out before it is even getting to rails. Whats going on with my ruby install? 1.8.4

Make sure you have a /tmp folder in your RAILS_ROOT and that it is chmodded to 777, and that under that folder you have three more folders chmodded to 777 named "cache" "sessions" and "sockets"

You probably upgraded to Rails 1.1 recently. This is the new temporary folder structure for these things and your project which "previously worked" probably did so on 1.0.
