Ruby code protection on shared hosting

Hi all,

Anybody know if it's possible to protect Ruby source code somehow? Like Zend Optimizer does for PHP.

We are planing to host RubyOnRails project at clients hosted server. I certantly don't feel good knowing that our long hours on code can be taken away. Not to mention that client shouldn't be able to change this code himself too.

So.. any ideas?

There are no bytecode encoders such as Zend and there are no encoders with loaders such as Ioncube, sorry. There is Ruby2EXE which makes it so that you can run Ruby as a standalone on windows but that is about it... even so, the EXE is not encrypted in any way, i'm pretty sure the code is stored as plaintext in a resource.
