How do they do that? Microsoft photo upload...

Has anyone seen or used MSN Communities or MSN Photos recently?

    http://photos.msn.com/

The file upload procedure is really groovy.

After you open an account with one of these services and (most importantly) download a plug-in application for Internet Explorer (I _think_ it's called 'Image Web Server IE Plugins'), you can view thumbnails of images of your photos prior to uploading them to the web server. Hey, you can even name them and rotate them (and other stuff I think) - all before you choose to upload.

    Very cool, very user friendly.

Has anyone been able to integrate this sort of technology into their site? With the help of PHP I can offer users the facility to upload files to their web site (including optimisation of jpeg images on the fly), but I wonder if it's possible to hook my file upload coding into the 'Image Web Server IE Plugins'..
