    Kevin's Book

I'm giving credit where credit is due. Kevin Yank's book is well written and too the point. I needed to find some info on the MySQL upper fuction (yeah I know easy peasy but, I forgot it was called upper). Went too the back of his book and BAMM - got it.

I'm using his book more as a pocket reference than anything else. So good work Kevin.

Thanks a lot for the feedback about the book guys. I know Kevin loves hearing from readers and you can be sure that he'll thank you himself when he reads this post tomorrow morning.

BTW: Do you mind if we use this as a testimonial on our order pages?

Yeah started me off too. I wonder how many people got their start with PHP/MySQl using Kevin's online tutorial?

I have recommended it to my university library, they buy a stack of new computing books every year and Kev's book is one of the ones on my list of recommendations.

I didn't buy Kevin's book yet, but I certainly will (soon).

I have some friends would like to know if you are planning to translate the book. If so, any idea when? They don't read, speak or think english, unfortunately - but I do a little. Though I don't have a lot of patience to teach, I'm trying to teach them using your tutorial - and soon, with you superbook. Yeah!
    php? mysql? apache? That's it.

    thanks

I'd like to take the time to thank Kevin as well. I was completely new to PHP/mySQL, not to mention I'm only 15. No other tutorial could really help me understand either of the two. Kevin's tutorial is what got me on track, and now I'm developing a databased article site using PHP/mySQL.

I'd also like to thank the SitePoint community. You guys have helped me out a lot. Whenever I can't fix a problem, you can. Thanks.

I haven't bought the book yet, but I plan on doing so sometime soon.

Afraid we have no immediate plans to produce a translated version. SitePoint invested a lot in this edition and for the moment we need to focus on making that investment worthwhile, which means getting word out about the book and hopefully selling zillions of copies!

I hope you sell tribizillions copies, Kyank.

But if you resolve do that (translate the book to portuguese), I will be happy to help in the new battle, ok?

It'd be great if you guys could let everyone on MySQL.com know how good this book is. Here's the appropriate URL for your comments:

    Thanks a lot!

Done. I really am impressed. It's such an easy read. Also, I like the book design.. finally a tech book that uses nice readable font size.
