Popular UK music site, but would love to now intergrate with a few O/S Networking site.

I'd say hands down it's PhpFox... Most of the others don't allow the user to customize their home page much, the user home pages look too much like the main script. There are many other reasons already listed here too. With all the mods and such Phpfox has now like the Windows Message Center, it's getting much better. My vote is for PhpFox..

phpFox appears to have the most features but it also seems quite buggy. And whats really disturbing is that some people are not getting their adsense clicks paid from it. No clue why that is happening.

you basicly get the freedom to do anything you want, but cant sell it below them, being commercial its well developed, they where offering a discount recently for developers license. thats when my friend bought it, he tells evryone he is a developer now, hehe

Dzoic Handshakes is very SEO-friendly. You can almost everywhere decide how the URL should look like.
E.g. if you create a new blog you have can choose the url -> blogs.yoursite.tld/YOUR-CHOICE

But personally I wouldn't worry about that too much. Is it important for you that all profiles have their own meta tags? I don't think that's very important.
