    This is ridiculous

I have a personal website, it has no broken images, underconstruction or whatever, although it's suck but that's not a point to get to Yahoo as long as your site has enough information and you submitted to the right category (which was personal website category, of course). I got a Yahoo's reply today:

    Hi,

    The URL you suggested

    <url: http://www.namnguyen.com >

was not added to Yahoo! because the site appears to be under
construction. Here are some of the most common factors that make
    a site incomplete:

    - broken graphic or image links
    - text links that have no information yet
    - an "under construction" announcement on the site itself
    - a site that does not work in all major browsers

When your site is finished, please resuggest your listing through our
    online process.

Please note that any judgement we make about your site is based solely on
the individual site. We do not compare web listings, and instead review
them on their merits, on a case-by-case basis.

We appreciate the time you took to suggest your site to us, and we look
forward to reviewing it when it is finished.

    Thank you,

    The Yahoo! Team
The thing that makes me mad is not because my site got rejected (I don't care about personal site, just want to see how it works so I can do it for other websites) but because of their ridiculous reasons, which I believe that doesn't have any.

Could anybody explain why? why is it so hard to get into Yahoo, what did I do wrong? Should I re-submit it? Their email relly pissed me off .

    Your site is under construction.

Its best not to link to parts that are not completed until they are done.

It doesn't look under construction to me!

You have a nice, complete personal site.

I have no idea why yahoo would reject you. Try to plead your case with them but most of all be NICE and very diplomatic.

A little kissing up can go a long way.

What did you mean? aside from the msg in greeting card page, which is still working, I don't see why you called it under construction?

note that they said "an "under construction" announcement on the site itself" but it's not on my main page, any other links are working fine, I still don't get it grrr...

    Nam,

An "under construction" notice is always a red-flag to Yahoo editors. Even if this exists on an inside page, and does not detract from the content of the other pages, they frequently refuse to add sites where these words appear.

You basically have two options. One is to remove the page from the site and all the links that point to the page. Your second option is to remove the text that says it is under construction.

Once you have done this, either respond to the email they sent you or resubmit. Once you attend to this, you shouldn't have a problem getting in.

    Another point

I think when I say: "Best view with IE4", also turned them off, that was why they mentioned the site doesn't work with all browsers, or may be it was just an email template they reply to every rejected people.

You can make your site cross browser compatiable - and ya, if you have "under construction" or Best Viewed anywhere on your site chances are you won't be included. If you really want inclusion - take the advice offered
