Looking for a directory script

I am looking for a good directory script that will automatically check the site that wants to be added for a recip link.

One thats easy to edit the layout also.

Well it's mostly just basic knowledge of html and css. Plus there is plenty of support at the forums. I find with the ProVersion being updated with new features every 2 months, a big plus. Good luck.

You are 100% right... smarty templates are very easy to customize!

I like, www.skalinks.com very easy to setup and use. I'm running it on www.unsignedmusicdirectory.com, Thats what it will look like without customizing the template.

Scratch all of that , go to SEO START DIRECTORY MANAGER v2.0

Its waaay much better than many other scripts, very easy to change the template, I didn't change it much since I kind of liked their set up, but I like it alot! And of course its free.

I’ve also been looking for a directory site script but haven’t found anything worth mentioning. Is there a way to use a CMS like joomla or drupal for this?
