    need help with php setup

    Hi all,
    please help in configuring php.i've windows xp.i've done the below steps:

    After installing Apache,

    Open C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\conf\httpd.conf in a text editor. Look for

    the line

    # AddType allows you to add.

    Add the below 3 lines here.

    - ScriptAlias /php/ "c:/php/"

    - AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

    - Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php-cgi.exe"

    Click Save.

    Step8 Test for PHP installation

    Open a text editor and type this:

    <html>

    <body>

    <?php

    phpinfo();

    ?>

    </body>

    </html>

    Save this file as phpinfo.php (without.txt) and put it in C:\Program Files\Apache

    Group\Apache2\htdocs

    Now, after performing the above steps and when web browser is opened and type http://localhost/phpinfo.php in address bar, i do not see a long
    page of variables and their values.

    i've uninstalled apche and php and again reinstalled from where the problem began.Before it was working fine.My conf subdirectory has:
    http.conf
    http.default.conf
    magic
    magic.default
    mime.types
    mime.types.default

    I think you need to make sure that your PHP.ini file is in your php root DIR (c:\PHP).
