    Postcard Idea

    Hey,

What do you guys think of this idea for a postcard, have one side be this complete image?

Just by the pic, can you guess what kind of business we run?

    Thanks

Your business could be anything from web hosting to faster e-Commerce solutions, graphic optimization or web development. I really have no idea. That card would have probably ended up in my trash can.

Try adding a couple key words to the image, that could help a great deal.

And of course you would have the rest of the info on the other side?

Absolutely. But the front needs more to it. Something that grabs my attention and shouts "read me!" That is your intention, right?

By the way, what is your business?

IMHO it could stand a few improvements.

You are targeting site owners only. And you further restrict the focus
of the message to those dissatisfied with their site's performance.
It is much harder (and a lot more expensive) to get clients to switch than
    to get new clients.

Also, the image you have chosen does not convey the right impression
to someone who is not happy with their host. It is dark, blurry, and unsettling.
For the target audience you have selected you need an image that projects
    stability, confidence, peace of mind.

My suggestion is to expand your target audience and hire a professional
to assist you with the creative part of the campaign.

I agree. You should come up with a slogan that targets clients who don't have websites yet, but would also raise the curiosity of people who have existing web sites. IMHO

It is too hard to mail out postcards to people that don't have web sites, as if they were interested, they probably have already been looking. I have tried this. To me, it seems that there are TONS of people not satisfied with their web host and want to change, from what I can see on other polls.

Ok, which one do you think is better?

    Is it better now?

I see your points, maybe that last post card then in that directory then?

Sorry, they're still not grabbing my attention. I ordered a 60 page manual about using postcards to promote your business. It also includes information about creating an effective postcard. You should check it out before running a large campaign. The address is: http://bobleduc.com .

As mentioned, I think you should consult with an advertising agency that specializes in direct marketing before you send anything out.

I receive post cards all the time about all sorts of things. Also receive that pack with about 100 cards every couple of weeks. 99% end up in the circular file.

    Ok, how about this one?

Haven't purchased it yet, so ignore their logo, but you get the idea. Something like that? Bright, but eye catching?
