    Director MX 2004 memory problems

When I try to perform several functions within Director MX 2004 (such as clicking on movie properties to increase the canvas size), the application throws a popup error saying:

"A fatal error has occurred. Director will quit now".

    (Ok button available).

    And then

    "Director

Warning! Director is completely out of memory and must close immediately.

Save changes to the current movie before exiting?

(Save and exit) (Exit immediately) buttons available.

How can I fix this? This error is independent of how many or how few applications I may be running.

Nope. What is the difference between 8.5 and MX? Is there anything significant in MX missing from 8.5? Perhaps I should try 8.5...

Simple reinstall lol. But I did reinstall it before and it didn't fix it, which is odd.
