Confirmation screens from forms - are they necessary?

I was thinking of the following flow:

Form Screen -> submit -> Input Confirmation Screen -> submit -> Submit Confirmation Screen

Input CS - is the one where it shows user input and asks if the user is sure this is the right info.
Submit CS - is where it just shows what user has just submitted.

I am just wondering if ICS page is really necessary? What are your thoughts?

It isn't necessary but it is a good idea. You visitors can correct the data before the send if it is wrong.

I think it depends on the situation. If it's an order form, you may want the confirm screen to make sure everything is correct before submitting (order the right quantity, is the address correct, etc). If it's a complex, long form, it may also be useful to provide a quick review of what they filled in. If it's a simple, short contact us form then maybe it's really isn't necessary and may be annoying to the user.
