    vbulletin and mysql

I've set up mysql and php and installed vbulletin correctly. It all works, but now I want to give access to comps on the outside world.

I change my config.php and mysql_db.php files in the admin folder to relfect my server name but no matter what I do comps can't connect.

    I get the following error.

Warning: Host 'xx.xx.xxx.xx' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server in /Library/WebServer/Documents/forum/admin/db_mysql.php on line 37

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.
I think it has to do with database permissions but I don't know how to set those.

You should never give the outside world permission to use your database. This is a gross security problem.

You should just leave the database server as Localhost.

If the script runs in a webbrowser then everyone can register and post.

    Okay...

well then I leave my config.php alone as localhost. The forums are here
    http://forums.cowofwar.com

They work for my computer, but everything's going to 127.0.0.1

Any idea where to change this?
