    IPB WARNING [2] mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '

    IPB error on www.DebateHQ.com
    I can't log into my cpanel, so does anyone have any ideas on why its down?
    I can't log onto the cpanel because the school has a firewall that doesn't allow it for some reason.

    line 120:

    $this->connection_id = mysql_connect( $this->obj['sql_host'] ,
    $this->obj['sql_user'] ,
    $this->obj['sql_pass']
    );

    check your config_global.php file for the right values.

    you should be able to login via any ftp software to DL that file and alter it in notepad if need be. I hardly EVER use cpanel for anything but setting up my domain.

    cpanel uses a weird port 2082 or something, i forget. and your school probably has that port blocked on their firewall. ftp uses standard ftp port, and im sure your school has it open.

    if it was working 6 hours ago... what happened since then?
    if you're on a shared server, i'd contact your hosting company... looks like they may have done an upgrade or something

    They said someone was abusing the server somehow, and that they're looking into it because they're only using 3% of it or something.
    Thanks for all the info, its back up now.
