    Google spider and positioning

    Hey!
We have made a huge site for the flat glass industry.
Now we think we are the best on the market so we deserve the top10 rankings on flat glass industry keywords.

Ok, we have registered our site 2 months ago with the major search engines and recently our site was spidered by openfind, fast, inktomi and google. Ok google came 3 weeks ago and spidered all our web site pages (2 times). The spidering process was 2 weeks long. Now it comes only once a day and cheks only the first page! But we are stil not in!! We have some links from dmoz and other sites (I heard till we don't have external links we wont get listed) so its very odd that after a week we are stil not in!

And please say I am guessing right. A site cannot be ranked in top20 on highly searched prases in the first month but after some time, right? I mean we have optimized our site for search engines, specially for AV but we have top rankings only on phrases that are not so popular.

ok, thanks for help, and sorry for my english

    Damir

p.s. site we are talking about is: Glass On Web

If Google spidered you 3 months ago I have no idea why you are not in it.

You're not doing cloaking or anything like that are you?

Do you use the Google Toolbar? If not you should get it... it wont help you get listed but it makes checking easier.

Also subscribe to the newsletter at trafficology.com... they have great search engine tips.

Google should update it's index the first week of October... see if you get in it then.

Google only updates it's index once a month-6 weeks. It usually spiders directly after an update and then waits a month before publishing the results from that crawl.

Some sites it will crawl more frequently but for the majority its like this.

If your web site is a new one to Google, you can expect that you can get registered by google 2 months after submission. Of course, you must at least get one external link. Also, your web site does not employ spamming techniques.

Google usually updates their database for every 28 days. However, they fail to update it in the most recent cycle. It may be due to the current incident in U.S.A. I am sure that Google will make an update soon.

Actually Google's last update was a week early. The last week of august instead of the first week of september.
