I haven't heard back from them either. I wrote to Browsercam and they say they are still working with Fundable, but I gather the recent split has left a mess.

I'm going to wait a bit to see if they get something going. If not, I'll wrtie to Browsercam and see if they want to set up with another service.

I'm interested in a premium subscription. Definitely, let's coordinate - no point in starting a couple.

I guess fundable actually recommended http://kickstarter.com as an alternative. I just briefly looked at it. Browsercam does offer the 25 person Premium subscription right on their website. It seemed easy with fundable. I'm not sure how all of this would be coordinated. Kickstarter also ADDS a 5% charge if successful. That is a challenge if you can't include the 5% in the pledge. I wouldn't want to get stuck with 5% of $1000.

ADDED: I just looked a little more at kickstarter. You need to be "invited" to start a collection so this may not be an option at all.

I'm looking to join a new group now too (preferably premium). So please keep us updated.

If Fundable doesn't come to life soon, I think the best approach would be to see if Browsercam would contract with someone else - that way issues like participation fees could be taken care of upfront and everyone wouldn't be scrambling and guessing about how to approach it.

If we don't hear something very soon (this week), I'll run it by Browsercam to see what they say.

Fundable now says that it is closed.

Browsercam still offers the group rate, but now people need to set up their own.

One of my friends is taking charge of continuing the group she was in. You can contact her at syble-at-thewebgenies-dot-com. It's $20/year for web and email capture and remote access.

People are paying her through PayPal and she will pay Browsercam once the total is collected. There are about 10 spots open as of yesterday.

    Indeed. That's a shame.

What do you guys think about using eBay to do this?

Just heard no places left. Am thinking of setting something up myself. If anyone is interested, leave a note here and if there are enough I will take the plunge

    Cheers!

I missed a few posts. I'm interested in joining a group still but I'm not sure the best way. Vgnet, if you take the plunge be sure to take any additional fees into consideration like paypal, ebay fees. I'm not sure about ebay. All the money would need to be refunded if not enough people joined. Ebay should start someting like fundable. I just looked at the browsercam site and I think the groups are going to be a bit more through them directly.

Sorry if this ends up doubling my post. I couldn't seem to edit the previous one. I just sent an inquiry to kickstarter.com about starting a browsercam group. The person who starts it would need to charge enough to cover the 5% fee that goes to kickstarter if the collection is successful. Payment is through Amazon. I'll let you know how they respond.

If someone starts a group to buy a Premium membership, I'm definitely in. I'd be happy to coordinate the membership as well if no one else wants to take the plunge ... figuring PayPal transaction fees, somewhere around $42 - $45 per person for 25 spots would get us the Premium membership.

Kickstarter did not think a browsercam group fit their criteria so that's not an option.

I am part of one of the first Premium BrowserCam Subscription Groups that is looking for about 5 more members. The group is run by a reliable design firm and this is their 4th year of BrowserCam membership.

The group purchase is being managed on their website, since Fundable is no-more. Click Here for more details: scottrageous.com/exchange/browsercam-premium-group-subscription-purchase

I just sent $41.50 through the link. I'm guessing this sort of thing will happen more as groups come up to their expiration date. Thanks.

Yes, I miss counted. There were actually 10 spots left, not 5. Now there are 8 spots left. I'm sure there are still a few existing members of the group yet to renew though.

Thanks for helping fill 'er up.

READ THIS: Fundable Is Dead, Any Interest In BrowserCam Group Purchases?

    Hi there!
My name is Kenn Min Chong, and I am the Product Manager for the BrowserCam service here at Gomez, Inc. It has come to our attention recently that Fundable is now closed and as such the option to form group purchases is now impossible because of this.
As you know, the Fundable option allowed you to literally subscribe to a Premium - all access account to BrowserCam for as little as $40 a year (or just $3.33 a month!) per person. As such, we would like to work with you guys on getting a more reliable alternative to Fundable. Before we go down this path though, we would like to know the level of interest from the public on this. Please reply to this tread to indicate your interest. Thanks again!

I assume existing groups will want something like that.

P.S. One spot remaining in our group. Get it while it's hot!

I've been a member of 3 Browsercam groups via Fundable and am interested in this.

Kenn, keep in mind that not all members here are particularly interested. I expect some people are satisfied with browsershots.org (I definitely am not) and also some who are interested may not notice this thread.

    Hey Kravvitz!
Thanks for the input. Definitely help to spread the word on this posting so that we can see how interested users are at doing groups like this. We are aware that users experiences on Fundable are generally pretty bad due to non-existent customer service and we generally want to work towards a better solution. But in order for us to invest time and effort into this, we'd like to make sure there is demand for it first. So, spread the word!

    Kenn.

Please excuse my ignorance but could you explain what this service is to those of us who have not heard of it. I can better let you know if I am interested if I know a little bit about the what this is and what it is used for. Thanks.
