    Cool Top Search Engine Searches

    I have been thinking about starting up a good content site that will get visitors through search engine traffic, but I need a good topic to get me off the ground.

    So basically what I am looking for is a good place to find the top search engine searches on the web, preferably by google.com.

    Hope to hear what you guys think and some possible links.

    The one Brandon posted is the best one by far. It's straight from Google. Anything else will just be refering to it.

    The way I choose topics is by what I know. So ask yourself this: what are your hobbies? What are the things you like? Do you find yourself ranting about one particular theme a lot (say website usability, or Hollywood)? Whatever you start, make sure you like it. Don't write for the SEs, write for your visitors, and the SEs will come.

    Of course, it helps if your knowledge is about some high-paying keywords

    Is there a way to see what the top searches for the month are? or for a compilation of months (jan + feb... etc)

    Google isn't the only one that provides a snap shot of what's happening in the minds of surfers. Remember, Google isn't the internet, it just part of it like all of us.

    Well SEOs usually use other services as well:

    http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/rc/srch/ and then select "keyword selector tool" under "tools";

    WordTracker free trial sessions (usually enough for most of us to mine a bunch of good suggestions).
