So... Mambo or Joomla?

I need to pick one of the two for a major site I'm working on. I am used to working with Mambo, hence I prefer to stick to Mambo or Joomla. But which one should I go with?

Some people say Joomla is just Mambo renamed - but I do believe there's more to it than that. So Mambo 4.5.3h vs. Joomla 1.1 - which would you recommend and why? Security is of top importance for me, so please if you know anything about that let me know.

Well my understanding (as limited as it is) is that almost all of the core developers left Mambo for Joomla, so if you're expecting updates and the such I would guess that Joomla would be a better choice.

Still researching, looks like the latest Joomla version isn't very secure. There are reports there of Joomla 1.0.7 sites being hacked over the weekend -
