    Signatures

Okay, as a good SitePoint member should, I have read Wayne Luke's post about the signatures. They can only be 4 lines long was the message. I just noticed Swimm5001 has a 5-line signature, is this a Mentor/Advisor/Administrator feature, a glitch in the system, or have the rules been changed?

Not that I need a 5-line signature right now, but I am just curious about it...

The rules are the same for everyone, four lines and sixty-five characters allowed per line.

Maybe he has changed it but I just looked and Swimm only has a three line signature.

My signature was only three lines, but Wayne informed me that on an 800x600 res., the lines were wrapping. I had to cut out a lot of stuff. I could have made the text size=1, but that makes the line spacing uneven and it bugs me.

I should have taken a screenshot of this, I totally forgot. My resolution is 1024x768, so the lines shouldn't be wrapping then, and I was viewing the page full screen. Anyway, it is changed now, I just thought I had missed some announcement on this.

    Howdy!

While you're on the subject of signatures....

How did you get font colors and how do you get your website address linked?

It's been awhile since I used a sig and I forget the procedure...

    Thanks,
    Jason

you use the same VB code that you use when you post messages.

And if you post a message at the forums, check out the dropdown box "COLOR". It contains all the colors you are able to use in your messages and signature.

Actually the color tag can accept either any of the named colors of the color-safe palatte or any valid hex code combination. The colors listed in the vbCode post editor are commonly used colors that would prove useful to the majority of people.

Hey, I never knew you could also use the hex codes in that tag. I always assumed that those colors were the only ones that could be used. Thanks for letting me know this .

While we're on the subject of swimms sig.

Adam - I just noticed that your 'email' link has a http:// in front of it... you might wanna remove that...

Well. When you fix it i'll even send you an email. Hows that for an incentive?

hm.... shouldn't be. I just checked my profile and I have:

    [ url=mailto:swimm5001@yahoo.com]EMAIL[/url]

Maybe I should get rid of the mailto:?

EDIT: just got rid of "mailto:" and it still adds the http://

EDIT2: Just checked VBcode. I gotta use [ email]... whoops!

Adam, use this function instead of [url]:

    Code:
    [ email="swimm5001@yahoo.com" ]E-mail[ /email ]
Without the spaces of course .

Edit1 in response to swimm's Edit2: Too late!
