Hey,

I am starting a tshirt biz with my little brother and I am entering in brand new territory!

The first thing we should naturally do is get the logo/company name trademarked.

Where and how do you do that?

Has anyone done this here?

Honestly, any info, advice in starting a tshirt biz would be tremendously helpful!

This is not a humor tshirt biz...but a tshirt biz that will be more underground music/sports targetted.

A trademark will cost you $325 (per class) assuming you are willing to file it yourself, you can do so by visiting www.uspto.gov.

If you are uncertain as to filling out the application you can either read the documentation (there should be more than enough to guide you along) or hire a company to do i for you. Generally hiring a specialist gets you a more in-depth search for other companies using the name you want to protect or one similar to it along with a well crafted filing. Of course the best bet may be to have the attorney you are working with do this for you as well... if you are not working with an attorney now is a great time to find one!
