    Desperate for News Management Program

    Hey,

I've been looking in vain for 4 months for a news management program similar to the one here - http://www.interactivetools.com/products/newsmanager/

It needs to have a headline with a teaser (would be great if the teaser could have a small picture, but not needed)

    Example-

    Headline Goes Here
Teaser that leads into the story by giving a short synopsis of the article.

Then, when clicked(headline, text, etc) it will take you to the full page story that has a related picture.

    I hope someone can help..lol.

    thank you in advance!

P.S. If you're wondering why I don't get the one at the url, ask my wallet, it'll tell you.

    Yep.

The only thing I'm finding are log type programs, not true news article programs. I'm working pro bono for a new abuse shelter in southeast Michigan and they want to use the site (not up yet)for fundraising. They are afraid if they use one of the log type programs (the type that list everything on one page and/or don't offer pictures etc.) they wont get the funding needed or be taken seriously. I would write the script myself, but I'm understaffed and short of time.

I've been at this for months now and have not been able to find a thing and this news script is the final Lego!

    Thank you for responding though

    fingers crossed,

That's the kind of thing they are trying to avoid. All they want on the front page is something like

    America Under Attack
On 11.09.01, America was shocked by the worst terrorist attack in recorded history.

Then a separate page that has the full story and the ability to post a picture with that story. That's about the best I can explain it. Something like a CNN or MSNBC or local newspaper article online.

Thank you again for your help!

Yeah, but its a weblog style program and does not fit the needs of this client. It's not a bad program, just not as flexable as required.

    Thank you for the help

    Hi,

I have developed a program that does just that, it's written in ASP though.

You can see the output Here http://www.soccerroyale.com

It alows you to add a Teaser, have an article as a Featured article, heading only display, Select it to only be displayed in certain categories, be displayed on the front page etc.

Try this. I have the modified version that allows multiple authors. But the basic one will do the job. It includes, headline, teaser that click to the full story page, printer friendly version, threaded comment system, sent to a friend, and rating system. Articles are organized by category, not by date of post like bloggers or phpnuke type scripts. My modified version simply ads the author's name below the Headline, and it has 3 levels of access.

You might try visiting cgi.resourceindex.com/. I have used News Admin and News Pro (new version Coranto). News Admin is easier to use.
