    Question On Web Advertising

I advertise people on my site http://www.bundabergonline.com.au but i have a question is there a good banner rotation script which will generate different banners at once because it starting to get crowded and unfair with the javascript roation im using.

Also im looking to be advertised on banners myslef (paid not banner exchange) and I was wondering a good place and a good price to look for to start, any ideas?

you can try phpads or wwwadverts they are both very good banner programs, I can't remember the url's but a search on google should produce the sites.

If you want to buy advertising it would really depend on what type of site you wanted to advertise on.

You can pay for advertisng on a network but its better to go and contact the sites individually that way you control the sites that your ads are on, You can get a better rate usually as well.

Prices will vary but for 468x60 banners if you go to sites directly you shoudl be bale to get it at 5o cents to $1 per 1000 impressions you may get it cheaper than this But at most sites you should be able to get it at these prices.

If you tell me more about what type of advertsing you are looking for I will be able to give you more advice.

Russ, I'd like to politely suggest that you refrain from promoting your own company's products on these boards - particularly when you are inferring that you have no relation to the firm in question (ie, "their site is...").

Welcome to SitePointForums error404au. It's always great to have another Aussie to kick around

The URLs to the ad management systems mentioned by jkcity are as follows:
    1. phpAdsNew: http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpadsnew/
    2. WebAdverts: http://awsd.com/scripts/webadverts/index.shtml

Another (not free, but affordable) solution is AdCycle:
    http://www.adcycle.com
There is a free version of this software available to those whose servers support FastCGI, so if your host supports this, check out:
    http://wholesomesoft.com/fastadcycle/index.html

As for your own advertising, since technology-based geo-targeting is still relatively ineffective, your best option is possibly to contact sites aimed specifically at Queenslanders, or those who are likely to travel to Bundaberg at some stage within the next few years (ie tourism-related properties). The cost of this will depend on the scope of the campaign, the precision of your targeting requirements and the quality of the host site, but you could likely negotiate down to $1-2CPM (cost per 1000 impressions delivered), or something in the vicinity of 10-20 cents/click, or $1.50-$2/lead acquisition on most properties.

    Hope this helps.

I covered this in a previous post, but I will quickly cover it here. I am affiliated with dkAds which is powered by Adtention. dkAds is a subsidary of Refsoft, the owner of Adtention. My above post about Adtention was only meant as a recommendation. From my own experience, Adtention has been very useful. Users are happy with the program.

I am sorry about the perceived deception. It was not meant to confuse.
    Apologies,
    Russ

    I'd recommend: Admentor from ASPcode.net

I've found a bug in the PHP version of admentor and I've corrected it on my installation, and now the weighting works correctly.

Contact me if you want more details - I'd be happy to help.

I haven't tried the ASP version.
