Not bad, actually
I'll stick with the Fox, too, but 7 seems to fix most of the famous css bugs like peekaboo and guillatine etc. Check out rendering at http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer.html.
Now it will just take a year to get out of beta and 2 or 3 more for a majority of users to update.

According to a thread - IE6 and IE7 at the same time? - in the 'official' IE 7 news group, installing IE 7 makes IE 6 go bye-bye. The December MS updates fubared my side-by-side version of IE7. Had to delete it and the offending registry key to get IE 6 working again.

To uninstall: Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. Tick the box at the top "Show Updates" and you will find "Internet 7 Explorer Beta 2" under "Windows XP - Software Updates".
As you can tell my copy has already gone bye byes...

Well, Tony Aslett tried to adjust his site for IE7 and it screwed him up. He suggests there is a new opportunity for new designers to develop new IE7 hacks to fix IE7. **great**

It's true that IE 7 Beta removed IE 6. If you want to see it work, BrowserCam already has it on their machines. You can capture or remote control a machine and play with it. Of course, Browsercam isn't cheap, but for those of you who want to see what your sites look like in IE 7 w/out risking installing on your main machine it might be worth it.

Figures, lets release new software to get more downloads even though we haven't fixed the million security issues with the old version.... and nothing is worth the upgrade and has another million security holes.
Ahh a breath of fresh air with firefox.

Wow, Microsoft exceeded my expectations. Scanning the posts on this thread, it sounds like they really laid a lemon. Of course, they have a LONG time to get it together. People probably won't acquire IE en masse until it's bundled with Windows, and I just read that Windows Vista might not be released this year after all. Some M$ bigwig hinted that it could be delayed yet again.
Let's see, how many Firefox upgrades will be released by July 2008?

I've been using it at work since last week (msdn download) and it hasn't crashed and I haven't noticed any bugs. Only issue I've seen is that pages with googlemaps give a popup that say the site isn't using a valid key (which is incorrect because one is a site I created).

No, the preview is a system upgrade that replaces IE6 on your computer with the preview code.
As Chris Wilson pointed out, "'IE' is actually a collection of system components - networking, browser hosting, core HTML rendering, printing, etc. When we install a new version of IE, we're installing it for all applications that use these system components - including the tiny iexplore.exe itself." Because of this, we do not support the various hacks that allow side by side running of IE6 and the IE7 Beta 2 Preview. Running with these could cause issues with the stability of a system.

overall i like it but i have my issues
firstly, installing it made me use IE again, and thus ive noticed that IE6 and IE7 render my webpage completely wrong (www.goldenplec.com) since i made the move to joomla/Vbulletin from phpnuke this week.
obviously i have a bit to go to get it working in both browsers but because im a firefox user i never noticed (completely forgot )
i dislike the File Edit View menu being below the address bar, it just feels wrong,
i really like the overview of tabs, thats very snazzy, something hopefully firefox will steal., ive not experienced the clunky scrolling myself, is it just my computer or is it bundled with the google toolbar? just checking because i doubt it. but as my default search would be set to google i find it funny that the built in search utility ( top right ) actually searches google ( and not msn as i thought it would )
if i could get the file menu back up to where im used to it being id be a bit happier, i like that some firefox shortcuts are the same in IE7 so browsing change became a little less tedious, for example Ctrl + T for tabs,
IE6 is now gone on my machine so anyone asking that question its definitely gone.
nice but not the complete solution yet
