One thing I noticed that sort of annoyed me was the error checking on your signup form. If one misses a required field a generic "Please fill in all fields." error message is displayed. This would be much better if you highlighted the field(s) missed.

Other than that, terrific looking site. Defiently would buy from you if I was into that kind of thing.

    Nice site.

Here is what you should do (at least a start).
    1. Announce your contest at a Japanese toy collector forums.
    2. Adwords/Overture/Miva in that order
    3. Do some creative JV with like companies, maybe Japanese anime / cartoon type websites.
    4. Become an authority on Japanese toys. Write some reviews/articles about trends, different companies, artists, Japanese television shows, submit to article directories.
    5. Blog and ping to blog directories.

That is one of the most underrated ways to promote your business - and it's easier than most people think.

I've been checking out the site for the last few days, and i really like what I see. It'll be cool to watch as you add more inventory and grow the groups section.

I think you've got a much better design than some of the other guys out there - if you add content to the groups section, you'll get people coming back. I already see there are people interested in learning how to make these and learning about other products out there (myself included). I bet you will do well.

Excellent site. I would suggest that you try branding it.. once people can think of toys, and think of fugitivetoys.com, you're made.

I really like the community interaction. It makes this much more than just a store. It's so cool how we can post things and join different groups and see it all at once, etc. Great job.

One suggestion, maybe you should have it auto-redirect to the groups page after you join the group instead of just saying "You have joined this group."

I would suggest that you display that message and redirect, or maybe even just redirect to the groups main page with a message on top in a little bar saying "You have joined the group." Or "You have joined ____" (insert group name). then use javascript (AJAX) to make it disappear.

This site looks a feels too much like others that sell similar things, such as www.myplasticheart.com. I'd be suprised it did well given there is nothing unique about it.

Then you haven't even visited the site Snaily. We might sell a few similar products, but that's all. Read the name of the site. "Fugitive Toys - An Urban Vinyl COMMUNITY and Toy Store"...It's a community just as much, if not more, than a toy store. Plus...your comment is like saying a shoe store would never do well because there are other shoe stores. There's always room for competition. I also don't know where you're getting that our site feels anything like My Plastic Heart...maybe it's because we both sell toys? I can still go back to the shoe reference here...that's like saying a shoe store is like every other shoe store on the planet just because there are shoes in there.

So be surprised all you want. We're actually already doing VERY well.

I have visited both hence my comment.

My plastic heard is also a community. Likewise for similar sites. Your site
is extremely similar to theirs both in what you sell and function.

Plus...your comment is like saying a shoe store would never do well because there are other shoe stores.
No my comment is nothing like that. The logic that applies to brick and mortar bussiness does not apply to e-business. If you try to open a new shoe store that offers nothing new in a city that already has plenty of such shoe stores it will fail.

    There's always room for competition.
No there isn't. If the market leaders are doing everything right you aren't going to be able to get into a market.

I also don't know where you're getting that our site feels anything like My Plastic Heart...maybe it's because we both sell toys?
I don't get this comment, as its so bloody obvious that the two sites are very similar, in design, function, what you sell etc.

I can still go back to the shoe reference here...that's like saying a shoe store is like every other shoe store on the planet just because there are shoes in there.
Sure if this was the only similarity ....but alas its not.

I still disagree with everything you say...so...agree to disagree. Thanks for the input though!
