    MySQL query size

I'm building a site for a client that has one table in it's database that could have well over 5,000,000 rows. Once they start taking orders, a certain page's query could return as many as 10,000 rows, each with 5 columns. Is this too much for a query to handle?

no, it's not too much for a query, but it sure as shootin is too much to display

are we talking about a web page? have you ever seen a web page with 10,000 rows displayed?

i'm guessing they're going to want to see something like "page 1 of 2000, showing 50 rows per page"

I'd suggest breaking those 10,000 rows into multiple pages and keep indexes on the key rows it all depends on your system and code but IMHO you'll be alrightish (70% sure )

Is there a limit to a table's size in MySQL? There could be well over 2 million rows in one table. Is that too much to handle? (provided I don't display all rows at once, of course!)
