Can this be done with php?

I have a client who wants a website, bu twants a special thing, which is most imporatant to him.

he wants that, nobody by any means cannot copy his website contents.

Now, i know there is a way that those contents can be hidden from user as its already being done (for eg. alexa rank)

but, i am not sure how i can stop somebody from copying the contents.

    can somebody please help?

    thanks in advance

I honestly think your client should stop worrying. If there is some reason why his content will be targetted for copying, people will find a way to get around anything you do. You could make all the text into images but anyone could just manually write what they see in the images. You could encode (I think) the source, but anyone could copy + paste what they see in their browser. You could password protect the pages but traffic would be limited to those who have the login information. Publish it online knowing that there is always a possibility of it being copied.. or keep the information safe and dont publish it at all.

There are some measures you can take like disabling right click but that is very unprofessional and annoying, not to mention it is very easy to get around.

Remember, when there is a will there is a way, especially with computer security.

As long as people can see it ; there's a big chance that they can have it , no matter what you do to stop them.

Negative eh, oh well, was worth a chance asking

Ok, if we leave the copying part out, then how do we stop users to see the source Like alexaa, you can see the rank, but if you do view source then theres no rank but some line, how that can be done

i'm not a web developer, but i'm curious why somebody would require it while even worldwide companies don't try such thing; they only put restrictions on sensitive data, and if smt. is really not to be seen/copied they simply dont put it there.

You said it, Sensitive data. Like alexa, they force you to use Apps to get Alexa rank, you cant just use simple fetching/parsing web page technique (I still wana know how they do that).

Maybe that guy may have some kin dof sensitive data like that.

Or you could make the (unwise, in my opinion) choice to build the entire site, content and all, in Flash. You can prevent text boxes from being selectable (which prevents copying and obviously pasting), and since the content's already built in to the Flash movie you can't really view its source unless you're really, really determined to copy the content.

Again, generally not a good choice in my opinion, but might be feasible if it's really that big of a deal.
