    Freelance sites other than craigslist?

    Hey guys,
i have been working as a web developer in different companies and doing some freelancing through craigslist. Now after 6 months, i am seriously thinking of switching completely to a freelance software house type of thing.

What are some good sites, other than craigslist for freelance exchange. I dont mind paysites, but as long as the hitrate is good and they dont outsource stuff to india. Are there any for that matter?.

    thanks in advance
    sincerely,

I know that rentacoder has a bad rep in this forum, however I get some work through them. I started out small to help build an online portfolio, but now I generally charge what I want to charge. I don't even look for work there any more. People that see my rep there and want good service at a fair (not low) price look for me.

I think if you have a decent portfolio, you can get work through them, even if you don't start small. Their top-coder just finished a job for over $25,000.00 USD.

Ive not had much luck with craigslist personally (although I use london.craigslist). I find a fair few small jobs through www.gumtree.com and www.kijiji.com. Might be worth a look.
