I’m a girl and I noticed that men like to stare at the taller chicks because they look higher in clothes. The appeal of long legs and well clothes are made for taller people. Men seem to stare at the tall girls but I think taller girls have a harder time finding dates. Most men refuse to date a woman taller than themselves. Essentially if I were a guy I would date a tall chick as well, short chicks are well short. I’m short and sometimes I feel like I’m backup because tall girls won’t stare at a shorter guy. I think guys would rather date taller chicks but often times they “settle” for the shorter ones because they know shorter girls will not reject them because they’re short.

SHORTIES.. everytime!! im 6.1 so most girls are shorted then me, but ive never seriously dated a girl over 5.6
its not like a rule, its just a clear patten i have found myself in. But tall girls do kinda scare me. Does sound very shallow, but hey im honest!
one thing tho, ive found that most short girls really dont like it, and always go on about how they would love to be taller.. obviously dont understand it, coz i luv the shortness.. I guess if i was short i might feel the same, but its different for a guy? or am i just applying double standards
p.s... ive never throught of going for shorter girls so i can be more dominant, infact if u want the facts.. Short and fiesty please!! nothing like a lil hardwork to make it all worth while.. (or maybe im a sucker for punishment **cough in a none perverted sorter way............. ooh wait...)

I'm 5'2 and most of the men that are attracted to me are taller men...i've never dated anyone shorter than 5'10. I think a lot of men just prefer petite women, esp down here in Florida. I'm not speaking for everyone but that is the trend down here. My taller girlfriends have a hard time finding guys...personally I'd like to be taller.

for me I had 5 requirments.
1) must be smarter than I am
2) must be beautiful
3) must be able to think for her self
4) top of her head must fit under my chin (I am 5'10)
5) her shoulders when I am huging from behind must fit between mine
My wife blew them all met them all. I am pretty much the luckiest person I know.

I guess this might explain why some guys are intimidated by tall women I can't think of any other reason.
And to those who say this is a very narrow list it is (I came from Jersey,US it fits the attitude), but it worked for me.
I did find him and we've been married for 21 years (happily).

Women liking men taller than them and men liking women shorter than them makes perfect sense. These preferences are probably mostly genetically prescribed(natural selection weeded out genetic predispositions for having less advantageous preferences).
This seems to make sense until you consider super models. I don't know what the hell's going on there.

I suspect it's more a case of the person becoming attractive when you get to know them...
