managing the database

Hello good pple of the forum,
i currently manage an online recruitment service in which pple would submit their resume online. The bulk of resume keeps increase by the day and i am little bit how mysql would be able to handle it.
That brings me to the question of fine tunning mysql. How often should i do it with this kind of database?

do you mean optimizing it? It really doesn't matter when but probably not more than 1 a day.
