    passing variables to frames

    G'day.

I have taken over R.C.A.T.T. and have already redesigned it once. However, this was by way of _lotsa_ manual editing.

I am currently learning php / javascript and hope to make the site waay better using these & mysql.

    My question though is this:

I need to pass a variable to a frame in a popup-window. The popup-window is called with the variables in the url:

    Code:
    winpops=window.open('ssf.php?ssurl='+ssurl+'&pic_sizex='+pic_sizex+'&pic_sizey='+pic_sizey,'SS_win','width='+pop_sizex+',height='+pop_sizey+',scrollbars,noresizable')
However, I need the some of the varibles in one of the frames to correctly show the called screenshot. However, in the
    Code:
    frame src=""
, i can't figure out how to get it to pass the extra information in the url:
    Code:
    'ss.php?ssurl='+ssurl+'&pic_sizex='+pic_sizex+'&pic_sizey='+pic_sizey,
    .

I've tried double quotes, single quotes, brackets & can't seem to understand how it works.

I would greatly appreciate some help with this as it's frustrating me to no end.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,

Not sure whats different but works fine in ASP, only time I have had to do some extra work is when there is a frame within a frame, then I just have the frameset page rebuild the query string.

    blah.asp?ID=1&blue=2&Cat=Dog etc etc.

I don't think I explained it clearly... [edited]

sorry if my initial post was confusing.

My problem is with defining the frame scr="src"

The popup window is ssf.php which is 2 frames. Problem is I need to pass the variables to one of the frames -ss.php - so I can use them do display & size the bitmap.

    I want this: frame src="ss.php?ssurl='+ssurl+'&pic_sizex='+pic_sizex+'&pic_sizey='+pic_sizey"

however, because I'm mixing in variables in, it doesn't want to accept it...

    thanks, and hopefully that's clearer,

    Solved...

I wrapped the code in a <?php ?> so that it would get resolved.

    frame src=<?php echo ("ss.php?ssurl=$ssurl&pic_sizex=$pic_sizex&pic_sizey=$pic_sizey"); ?>

thanks for playing "Spot the n00b."
