You could always make 'em yourself. Of course, I don't know how good it would work.

www.T-Shirts.com . No, seriously, check it out. Custom T's, I think they may have good prices as well.

Design your own with a Java Applet as long as it's not too complex.

You could always take the Kathy Lee Gifford approach and start a childrens sweatshop in a third world country.

Let's not get too sarcastic now. I was talking about the special paper that you can buy for making t-shirts. You just print whatever you want on the special paper and then you iron it on the t-shirt. Please don't be so rude and sarcastic in the future.

I did not interpret his remarks as rude? I saw it as an attempt at humor. I even found it mildly amusing. You might want to lighten up a bit.

Does anyone know of a place that sells custom t-shirts that are black, or have some other dark background? Getting tired of all the white/gray.

I used to broker screen printing some time back. Since these are give aways for your site, you want to make sure you get good quality. If you hand out something that is a sub standard quality, the people that receive them will associate that quality with your site.

Since you want to print on a black shirt, it is usually advisble to run white ink under your design, so it stands out and makes the colors crisp... think of it as primer on a car.

A good shirt to ask for would be a Hanes Beefy T; I think they still make them, but can't be certian. Your screen printer will at least know what kind of quality you are looking for when you ask for that.

I hope that helps. Remember, quality counts toward your image. If you can't get the decent stuff right away, it is best to wait a bit till you can.

Just checked out the site; you'll probably have to get a quote for a black shirt. Looks like they only print the easy stuff. (There is a note under the pricing grid to contact them for dark colors)

They are almost $11 each if you get an even dozen, not including tax and shipping. They also use "heat transfer" vs actual screen printing. If they do it right, it's usually pretty good (that is why they don't have screen charges listed) Personally, I would go to your local yellow pages, and see who is in your area first.

In fact, you could possibly get away with a little barter deal; shirts in exchange for some exposure.

    PS nice look'n site, btw

sorry to offend you swim. It wasn't really aimed at you. more for my own evil/sarcastic means.

I have seen those DIY tshirt paper things. One of my friends tried it with a massive picture of a green fish. It was alright, my up close it was a bit spotty.

TWT, you didn't find the "custom T's" section? I thought they might've had something to suit your needs.

If not, oh well. Sorry I couldn't help.

    Good luck.

Thanks...gonna look a lot nicer soon, though, which is one of the reasons I was hoping to grab some t-shirts. What do you, personally, recommend I do to find black t-shirts? I emailed t-shirts.com to ask about black/dark shirts, but they haven't replied yet.

See http://www.cafepress.com/ . No cost down for you, you set your own price, they have very high quality merchandise, quick turnaround.

    (For example, see http://www.cafepress.com/pbbt )

I've seen them, but they only offer light colors I guess I ought to change what I want, eh? Hehe. I'll bet it'll be awhile before that becomes a standard feature.

If you're talking about cafepress they do black shirts too. You have to agree to sell N number, but they'll make them up for you. Try emailing them... they sent me an email about this awhile ago.

    CafePress.com "Colors"

Yup. Owen's right. I have a CafePress.com store myself and I know that they have a program called "Colors" where you agree to sell a certain amount and they'll make the shirts for you (black, blue, orange, yellow, red, etc. - more selection than their usual white and light grey). I've been really happy with their service, their turnaround and their quality so far.

    Good luck!
