open source DB design software for Mac?

I have just started writing database structures and the friend that checks them for mistakes for me recommended downloading DBDesigner 4 (http://www.fabforce.net/dbdesigner4/downloads.php). the only problem is that I am on a Mac and the software is written for PC and Linux.

Is there any open source software out there that works on a mac similar to DBDesigner?

    Macs are BSD based.

Hmm for creating tables and such,

The closest alternative to dbDesigner4 for the Mac is mySQL Workbench infact it is being written by the same guy that wrote dbDesigner4.

It is currently still an alpha release so is buggy and unstable at times however I have had no major problems with it so far.

In addition to the tools pointed out by Ren you may want to have a look at CocoaMySQL (or CocoaMySQL-SBG if you run mySQL 4.1 or above)

Anyone still have a copy of the MySQL Workbench for Mac OS X that was referenced here? The links to it on the MySQL Developers Forum no longer work.

    Thanks!
