What do you use to code PHP?

    Hi all,
just a quick topic on what kind of enviroment you use to develop PHP applications. Whats your fav IDE or are you "hard core" and code with a text editor?.

I use Notepad++. It is like some of the above but it is mainly an advanced text editor that supports many coding languages.

I have to agree with some of the posts, I use to use dreamweaver, started using this for Xhtml, Css, Javascript elc, but quickly found that is not the greatest for php coding. So I've been giving PHP Designer a try.

    Cheers

PHP Designer Here. Though, I dont use much of their quick buttons...But I do like the overall functionality of the software.

I used to be a Dreamweaver user (code editor is nice). However, I recently switched to Zend Studio and I love it.

I used to use phpedit but it was a bit unstable and then I went to php designer which I like.

I tried a demo of dreamweaver but could not really get the hang of it and was using code view? all the time. I thought whats the point on laying a load of money out on some software that I only use part of and this can be done with cheaper/free software?

I also tried some other software like crimsonedit which from memory started creating copys of files every where and some others that I didn't like the way they worked.

VIM - code completion, code folding, 3 years on and still learning... CLI, VI (VIM) just makes you think of your code as objects rather than text.

Works on all platforms I use. My .vimrc is on of my prized possessions.

I use Dreamweaver to code PHP/XHTML/CSS. Only the code view though - My sites usually look completely messed up in Design view, but fine in the browser so I steer clear from that.

    EditPad Pro
    simple interface. effective and quick.
I don't like waiting for software to load, so I stopped using Dreamweaver and simply use EditPad cause it's so much smaller.

    Ditto.

The only thing that bothers me about Komodo is the code folding. I hate the way it appears and haven't figured out how to change it.
