    Mailing List Manager

    Hello!

I'm in the hunt for a good (easy) mailing list manager be it PHP or Perl no matter. What I need is something for myself and my classmates. Something that people can automatically subscribe and unsubscribe to and from. I don't want just a regular mailing list that I as the admin send out emails but one that has a set address that everyone can send to and everyone gets. I found one called Ezmlm but that's a little out of my league and I would have a real hard time setting it up and managing it as I'm a PHP newbie.

I considered a romotely hosted application but changed my mind fast as I'm sick to death of ads and pop-ups.

So if anyone knows of something that is good, free and easy to use, please let me know, I'd appreciate that very much.

    Thanks in advance,
MediaOhgr - But then again, maybe it's just me ...

Ezmlm comes from http://www.ezmlm.org, which runs on Qmail setup, if you don't have a dedicated server to mess around with. Forget about it.

You are looking for listserv type of services, I suggest remotely hosted services, start with http://www.bcentral.com, Microsoft provides an excellent listbot with free as well as premium version.

There is a mailing list manager called VList. It works super well. It's not great for large lists (over 1000) but for smaller lists it's fantastic.

I've been really happy with CGI-Subscribe. It's easy to setup and maintain, and you can send something out to the list in either HTML or text. For more information go to http://www.tesol.net/scripts/CGI-Subscribe/.
