Open, edit, save XML using PHP

Hello to all.

Is there any way to open, edit, save an XML which resides on a server (e.g. http://localhost/xml/file/sample.xml) using PHP.

I want to give the ability to a user, with a PHP template.

Sure it is possible to open, edit and save a XML file using PHP. But what exactly do you mean with "edit"? And what do you mean with PHP template?

Do you mean like a WYSIWYG editor?
