I need help.
I am the webmaster for a company called Zen-Tel. Our website is www.zen-tel.com. I need some help analyzing exactly what I am doing wrong as far as search engines are concerned.
Some background information:
The site is an online store for ordering products and requesting services. Naturally, I want to be at the top for all of my product names (there are over 400 as of now). The product pages are dynamically generated following the same type of template both for layout and content structure. However, I am not ranked highly for certain products and I am for others.
'siemens optiset E basic' is the standard name of the Siemens Optiset E Basic Phone. If you search for that in Yahoo I am #2. In MSN I am #59. (url:http://www.zen-tel.com/phones/siemens/ProductID-37.htm)
for 'nortel meridian M3903 phone' I am #50 in Yahoo and I am #74 in MSN. (url:http://www.zen-tel.com/phones/meridian/ProductID-5.htm).
Notice the top 10 ranks and then the ranks that surround my page back at #50 or #74. Also notice my page. For both of these search terms I have no doubt that they deserve a ranking within the top 10. I have more content, better use of keywords, more links pointing to the page with the keyword in them, and more links on the page with the keyword in them, yet I am still ranked lower than many other pages that merely mention the keywords.
For Google I removed myself from their index because I thought I was spamming them and I thought that removing myself would help out. I was wrong. I was not doing anything aggressive or wrong and removing myself was not the best way to go anyway. Apparently, I have to wait two more months before I am reindexed (a total of 6 months if you remove yourself :'( ).
Basically, I need help.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, what is happening, or point me towards a reliable SEO professional?
