question about forum in php NUKE 5.2

I've installed php nuke 5.2 & in the user profile there is a link to send that person a pm, but it doesn't work. I get a message about the forum not being installed or something but from what i've seen the install did not include a forum.

    Anyone know what happened?

Checkout PHPNuke.org -- I think it may be referring to an add-on involving phpBB. I've only installed PHPNuke once, and phpBB was bundled with it/integrated with it, but that was awhile ago, so it may only be available as an add-on of sorts now.

The forum is an addon in Nuk 5.2. You can get the new addon package for 5.2 in its beta stage from http://www.nukeaddon.com/

All you have to do is get that file extract it and copy the files into your nuke root, they will override the files they need to, then run the sql file into MySQL that comes with the addons and your all set.

thanks for the info. I've got a forum already I might be using instead, but I guess I gould set that one up for the guest to be able to use the pm system.

Think maybe I should tell someone at phpnuke.org they forgot this?

Okay I guess you are missing the point, the addons are bundled together separate from phpnuke itself. I think they are trying to keep the core separate from addons, which is a good idea AFAIAC. The only mistake they made was putting the pm in the core instead of making it part of the addons.

I got the point, thats what I said wasn't it?

They kept the feature for pms in the actual program itself but when they apparently "took out" the BB sytem they "had" at some point, they forgot to remove the pm system from the profile pages.

    See....I got it.
