Would you buy this business?

My best friend is thinking of buying into this business with his friend who owns the business. They guy produces everything on the site and owns it all and basically carries the inventory in his garage. His site gets no visitors hardly but has made a couple of sales per month online. He mainly just goes around to stores and tries to have them sell the merchandise, etc. My questions are:

I think lots of ideas have potential! Making something of it depends on the skills of the owners/staff.

Online retail is a tough business - your competition is virtually infinite!

We have a well-known member here ("Aspen") who does *very* well selling highly competitive products online. He openly attributes his success to online marketing. Check out Chris' blog for some great tips.

I like the site and the products, but think you will really have to extend the product line to have a great site in the eyes of the potential client.
